steamroller.
Ben loves to work hard for Mr Dodie but, at night, when he is al
l alone, pools of tears collect beneath his boiler. He is lonely and yearns for
brothers and sisters. One day Ben looks across a field and sees a puff of white
smoke.
Overwhelmed with happiness, he hastily rushes to meet steamroller Mati
lda, and the pair agree to run away together. Delightful lithographs accompany t
