Bill Lewis is an English artist, storyteller, poet and mythographer. He was a founder member of The Medway Poets and, later, also a member of the Stuckists art group. Part of the original punk poets of the nineteen seventies, Bill has developed a language beyond that primeval explosion, writing poetry that deals with the modern world from the point of view of a working-class poet who mixes mythologies old and new to interpret modern Britain and the world beyond. This is the first time that his work has been published in Spanish in book form. The books comes with a prologue placing Bill´s work in the context of modern Western poetry. It is totally bilingual and can be read in both Spanish and English.
Bill Lewis the shaman poet / El poeta chamán es una antología bilingüe inglés/español de la obra de Bill Lewis (Maidstone, Kent, 1953). Bill es un poeta británico, artista, narrador y mitógrafo. Fue miembro fundador del los llamados Medway Poets y, más tarde, también miembro del grupo artístico Stuckists. Bill, que formó parte en su día de los poetas punk de los años setenta, ha desarrollado un lenguaje que va más allá de esa explosión primigenia, escribiendo un corpus de poesía que aborda el mundo moderno desde el punto de vista de un poeta de clase trabajadora que mezcla mitologías antiguas y nuevas para interpretar tanto la Gran Bretaña moderna como el mundo más allá. Esta es la primera vez que su obra se publica en español en forma de libro.
